[Dimitri feels as though he's forgetting something during the entire day that they find Chip again, but, frankly, he's too exhausted and relieved to think about it too hard. It hits him when they are on the road again the day afterwards, and he's been relegated to sitting on the rat sleigh so that he can get some naps in.]

I believe this is the Gear number for Izuku, correct? I wanted to let you know that we managed to find Chip, the missing child. I thought you would be concerned about the matter.

[By now, Izuku had grouped up with Katsuki and Kirishima. He hadn't forgotten about Chip- far from it- but he'd not been lucky enough to find the boy...so he's more than a little relieved to see this message appear on his Gear.]

That's great news! Thank you so much for letting me know, Dimitri-san. I was really hoping he'd turn up soon.

this morning. it was very surprising.

[By now Izuku had only been in this world for about a week, meaning yes...the number of Pokemon on his team is quite small. He only has Eevee still for the time being- or Mighty, as he's been calling him.

He has to admit...the thought of caring for more than one of these Pokemon at the same time seems a little daunting. Kirishima and Katsuki have been managing it fine, but what if he can't do it as well? Mighty has been doing okay, though...they do seem to be pretty self sufficient. Then again, this would be a baby, wouldn't it?

...he's definitely overthinking it and he hasn't even responded yet.]

I still just have my Eevee for right now. I haven't been able to catch anything else yet...

[He's not the best at it, who knew.]

I've never heard of those Pokemon before. What are they like?

[OH HEY Here's Izuku being a nervous wreck but also trying not to be a nervous wreck because it's just making his Pokemon more nervous and, god.

This is, um...well. I saw a poster about Silph Co. needing to find homes for these Pokemon they have, Type:Null? And I couldn't just...leave town without checking it out, so I submitted an application and, well...

[He smooths a gentle hand through the Pokemon's dry fur.]

I adopted this one. They didn't have such a good home life before...their previous trainer didn't even give them a name.

[ Not going to, like... Make a big deal out of it or anything. However, Deku will find a Pokeball on his pillow on his birthday. There's a note scribbled in Bakugou's hand writing.

Izuku can legitimately hardly believe it, yet here it is, on his pillow...honestly, he probably cries over it a little in private, what the hell.

He's also going to let the little guy out right away because he's never seen a Milcery before...so he's understandably curious.]

( guess what, izuku? your network information automatically includes your birthday. so it's time to unload that heavy box for the pidgeotto delivery bird! within is a dark green notebook with a silver eevee engraved in it, and some matching pens in black, dark green and light green, alongside a green and silver badge case for 16 gyms. there's also a carefully protected chocolate cake... although, since jinx made it herself, it might be a little on the sweeter side. still very good though! it also includes a particularly fancy pokepuff for kamui, as she promised, and some cookies for his team... and. is that liquid plant food for mystery? jinx.

topping it all off is a hand painted card- it's of mighty, thirteen and ryuko, all surrounding a birthday cake. the corner has... a name in purple, written too small to make out properly, but within the paper it says 'Happy birthday. Thank you for being a good friend.' )

[Jinx was one of the first friends Izuku made here. It's probably little surprise that she thought of him and sent him a gift, but he has no idea how she knew. He'll find out about the Gear thing later. For now, he's simply too overwhelmed by the gift- no, gifts- themselves to wonder.

It's perfect. It's all personalized and too perfect, even his Pokemon get treated. It's funny, watching Kamui eat the pokepuff because it just sort of slowly....disappears into her vines. Izuku makes sure to take a picture to send Jinx because oh my god. Each of the others gets one of the cookies for themselves, followed by a generous misting with the plant food for Mystery, who seems to enjoy it quite a bit. All of them enjoy their own treats while Izuku has his cake and cries about how sweet all the gifts he received are. That notebook will probably be full within a few weeks, but honestly that just means it's going to be well used and loved.

That card is going to be kept safe until Izuku can figure out a nice way to preserve it. In a frame, maybe? That'd be hard to travel with, but he at least wants it in a folder or something where it won't get bent.]

BIRTHDAY DELIVERY x2 COMBO - backdated to 7/15

[Poor Izuku, you're just going to be utterly bombarded with delivery Pidgeys this day. Thankfully, Ochako's gift isn't too large, or even that heavy for the little delivery bird. It's relatively small, actually, but does contain a few little things.

First and foremost is a hand made scarf, but it's not for Izuku. No, it's actually for Mighty instead, but the scarf is shockingly similar to the one Izuku wears most of the time, with the colors matching those of All Might. It's a bit too warm for a human to wear a scarf, but a cute little Eevee might it acceptable!! Perhaps Ochako will make one for Izuku come the cooler months, so the duo can actually match.

Second, is a bento box nicely wrapped in a little kerchief - nothing fancy there, just a simple white one. The food inside is...you guessed it, Izuku's favorite!! Katsudon! Made and prepped by Ochako herself. She got to use the kitchen at a lovely little Bed and Breakfast in Azalea town, and thought to make something special, and tasty, for her best friend.

Thirdly...is a Pokeball. One containing a Pokeball that Ochako caught (alongside her Skarmory), but decided to give to Deku instead. It's a Wimpod - a cute and rather shy little buddy who may or may not squeak and skitter all over the place and lighting fast speeds, only to hide for the first few minutes when release. He really is just...a very wimpy, scared baby. And alongside everything else is a card and a note from Ochako, in her handwriting:]

Happy birthday!! I'm sorry I couldn't give this all to you myself, but I still don't have a way to fly to you, yet. The distance does make me sad, and I wish we all could travel together some day, but for now this is what I can do. I miss you, and the others, so please keep in touch on video chats and stuff!! When I fight the gym here in Azalea, I hope you and everyone else can make it! I'll let you know when I challenge the leader!

Oh, and I made you some food!! I know you like Katsudon, so I really hope you like mine! ^o^ I didn't have enough time to make a cake or anything sweet, but...maybe next time, okay? I'll take you to a sweet shop, and we can hang out together!! ♥♥♥

Oh, and be careful with that Pokemon I got for you. It's sweet, but really jumpy and skittish... Poor thing, I think my newest birdy was chasing it before I caught it, so it's been kinda scared. Please take good care of it, Deku-kun! I read that they're called 'Wimpod' and kind of small and not that strong but...if you take good care of them, they evolve into something pretty cool and strong!! You work hard and grew up so much, so I think this'd be perfect for you!

[How much can Izuku cry on his birthday? A LOT apparently, holy shit Ochako.

Mighty is, unsurprisingly, esctatic to receive a gift. It's not even his birthday!! He wears the scarf proudly and hops all around Izuku as if to show it off. Look how handsome he is! It goes well with the everstone collar he wears too, so all in all an excellent gift on Ochako's part.

Then comes...the bento, which distracts Izuku for a good while because oh, god, the tears he cries. He cries when he sees the Katsudon, cries when he tastes it, cries long after it's been eaten. It tastes like home.

He takes special care with the pokeball, not opening it to release the Wimpod until he's read her note thoroughly. It all just...means so much, and here he is crying like a baby yet again because of how sweet all of this is.

He knows he'll have to make this generosity up to her, soon. For now, he reads and rereads the note all throughout the day once he's had the time to properly meet his new little Wimpod friend.]

ANOTHER BIRTHDAY DELIVERY!!

[ Coming along likely with Ochako's gift is, of course, Eri's! Now, she had some help of course, but it's very easy to guess that the wrapped up item is a Pokeball. Specifically, a Friend Ball! She saw it at Azalea and the colors reminded her of him, and it was called the Friend Ball, so... seeing as how she didn't know what else to send him, she got this for him! Now whatever he catches with this ball will not only be his friend, but he can remember Eri when he uses it!

As for what comes with it... it's a piece of paper folded up into a square. If you unfold it, you'll see some very messy handwriting on the paper, along with a very crude drawing of... of him? It's absolutely intended to be him, but unfortunately, it could honestly be anyone considering how many people they know who have spiky hair, and Izuku's hair isn't even spiky! It's curly! Just assume that it's you, Deku.

The writing, meanwhile, is littered with spelling mistakes and grammatical errors... but it's adorable. ]

[Out of all of the equally touching gifts Izuku had received, this one makes him cry the longest. He cries over them all- because of course he does- but this is special in a way the others simply aren't.

Eri...means so much to him. She was the first child he really was able and willing to lay down everything to save, no matter how much personal risk he was at in doing so. If anyone deserves a second chance at happiness, especially in a place such as this one, it's her.

He reads the note many times that day. He takes it and very carefully keeps it in a safe place in the new notebook that Jinx gave him. As for the ball...it's going to be saved for a very special occasion, one day. Whatever Pokemon he catches in it will be a significant one, he's sure.]

[ Some time after dinner, after everything is tidied and showers are had, it's quiet enough in the shared home. Normally, Kirishima sits out in the living room to watch the television, play games, or review the network in the common space to allow for more time spent with his travel mates and their Pokemon. Tonight, he does that, but anyone observing him would have noticed he's been a little 'off' all day. He's not sure how to approach Bakugou with what he wants to.

But when it's nearly bedtime for the blonde, he thinks maybe it's best to just start to do the thing and fly by the seat of his pants rather than keep worrying and not do the thing at all. So he gets up to go to Bakugou's door and knocks before letting himself in. What he finds perplexes him. Typh and Ribbons are both there, curled next to and on the bed respectively, fast asleep. The bedding is rumpled as if someone used it which lets Kirishima know it has been used since it was made this morning. At first, he naturally just thinks he missed Bakugou going to the bathroom, so he sits on the edge of the bed and waits. Time passes... and passes. Something seems off about the room itself. Less stuff. Did Katsuki throw it out? Put it away?

After a few minutes, Kirishima gets up and goes to check the bathroom. No one. The last place to look is with Midoriya - the two of them talk sometimes, maybe Bakugou is there. Normally he wouldn't intrude, but something feels weird about the situation. ]

Bakugou? [ He calls out first, venturing. No annoyed response, so: ] Midoriya?

[Though Izuku had retired to his room a while ago, he unsurprisingly isn't asleep when Kirishima comes knocking. He'd expected Katsuki to be in bed- he always is by this hour- and Kirishima to be in the living room, which was why he'd set himself up on his own bed with his Gear and the notebook set that Jinx had gotten him for Christmas, using it to jot down some battle strategy notes. It looks like he's trying to plan out how he wants to challenge upcoming gyms, and what he might need to do to get to that point.

He looks over his shoulder when Kirishima calls out, pulling the end of his pencil from his mouth.]

[ All things considered, Eri's started to recover... though Izuku may not have been aware that she had been hurt in the first place.

Still, Basculin, huh... she might have a least favorite fish now as of last month. She's slowly started to come out of her room again, but there's something that she has to do... something that she's been putting off, but has to do.

Deku will get a call from Eri... it's late, but it just took her this long to work up the courage to do so. Her fingers were trembling even as she hit the call button on her Pokegear. Strangely, the call is audio-only... which is different, considering that she usually prefers video calls. ]

Deku-san...?

[Izuku, for once, had been spared of the region's unique brand of chaos for that month. He'd had...a lot of other things occupying him at the time, so he'd fortunately(?) missed the appearance of the fish Pokemon. Or, perhaps it was less that he missed it entirely, and more that he simply didn't have the emotional energy to think about it. And so...he hadn't, intending to look into it further at a later time.

Well, he couldn't have expected it to be this way.

He picks up his Gear the moment it rings, awake since he tends to be up late most days anyway. He's shocked though by the voice he hears on the other end.]

...Eri-chan? Wh- I'm here...is everything alright?
